Itinerary

Itinerary

Jaipur Udaipur Tour with Ajmer begins on arrival at the Jaipur Railway Station or Jaipur International Airport. The travellers are received by a tour representative who then escorts them to the pre-booked hotel. The afternoon is for relaxing and refreshing after hotel check-in. Start the cultural excursion in the evening, typically a drive past the Albert Hall Museum or a visit to one of the modern attractions like Birla Mandir, an exquisitely built white marble temple. A late evening trip to Chokhi Dhani, an ethnic village resort, offers a real Rajasthani experience with folk dances, puppet shows, camel rides and a delicious, traditional dinner, which are excellent add-ons that you will experience.

The next day begins with a visit to the stunning Amber Fort, located on a hilltop. You may take an elephant ride or a jeep safari up the ramparts of the fort. The travellers will explore the beautiful courtyards, palaces and famous Sheesh Mahal within the fort. A visit to Jal Mahal, a palace in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake, is undertaken for photography.

A tour of the City Palace is a grand complex that continues to accommodate the former royal family and encourages museum display of royal clothing and antiques, rounding out the afternoon. Jantar Mantar is the nearby attraction, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and 18th century astronomical observatory. A photo stop at the five-storey façade of the Hawa Mahal, known for its honeycomb structure that allows ladies to witness street life without being detected.

Post breakfast, travellers will leave and begin the drive to Ajmer, around 130 to 150 kms from Jaipur and it takes a relaxed 3 hour drive. The main attraction of this renowned Ajmer Sharif Dargah, the grave of Sufi Saint Khwaja Moin-ud-din-Chishti, is Ajmer, a significant spiritual hub. Devotees of various faiths are drawn to this amazing experience. The nearby historic mosque of Adhai din ka Jhonpra is another popular destination.

Embark on a visit to Pushkar, around 14 kms from Ajmer. Hindus attach strong religious significance to Pushkar, one of the oldest cities in India. The sacred Pushkar Lake, rimmed by ghats and popular Jagatpita Brahma Temple, is one of the world’s few Brahma Temples. The tour can also include an overnight stay in the peaceful town of Pushkar or Ajmer.

In case you have a hectic schedule, you can make use of the morning to accomplish any remaining sightseeing in Ajmer or Pushkar, like taking a walk around or visiting the Ana Sagar Lake in Ajmer. Since Udaipur is around 270 to 290 kms from Ajmer/Pushkar and a 5 to 6 hours trip, this is a long day's travel. Many packages have an en-route halt, often at the beautifully carved Ranakpur Jain Temples, known for their beautiful marble work and a large number of pillars. Depending on the tour package, you may take a halt at Eklingji or Nathdwara. After the long drive, relax at the hotel for the remaining day on your arrival in the “City of Lakes.”

The day is spent exploring Udaipur, a city famous for its beautiful lakes and palaces. The City Palace complex, the largest palace complex in Rajasthan, with stunning views of Lake Pichola. An absolute must-see in the vicinity is the delicately sculpted Jagdish Temple, devoted to Lord Vishnu. The tour then proceeds to Saheliyon ki Bari, an ornamental park with fountains and marble sculptures.

The Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandal Museum of masks, puppets, ornaments and traditional dress offers an insight into Rajasthani life. A lake boat ride on Lake Pichola in the evening, especially at sunset. This offers a stunning view of the City Palace and surrounding island palaces floating on water, including Jag Mandir and Lake Palace. Witness a traditional dance show at Bagore ki Haveli.

Travellers leave the hotel in the morning after breakfast. Followed by a wonderful 6 day tour of Rajasthan’s stunning, religious and kingly landscapes, they are dropped at either the Udaipur City Railway Station or Udaipur Maharana Pratap Airport, whichever is according to their further travel plans.
