Ajmer Pushkar Private Tour Package allows travellers the most spiritually charged and culturally vibrant tour of Rajasthan. Even though they are very close to each other, the twin cities – Ajmer, a larger Sufi center and Pushkar are one of the oldest Hindu pilgrimage centers. Unfettered by the greater distances of a typical multi-city tour, the tour is geared to those who are willing to experience the essence of the area’s spiritual heritage, authentic local life and vibrant Rajasthani culture.
Upon your arrival at Ajmer railway station, you will be warmly welcomed by our tour representatives. Ajmer is nestled amidst the Aravalli hills, boasting a rich history as the vital headquarters of the Chauhan Dynasty and the Mughal Empire. The remaining day is spent acclimatizing and settling in. Depending on the time you arrive, spend the evening getting your first look around the local bazaars or trying some of the Rajasthani cuisines for the first time.
Today, uncover Ajmer’s historical and religious depth. The Ajmer Sharif Dargah is the focal point of the city and the day’s featured attraction. Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti is a Persian Sufi Saint who lies entombed in the sacred Ajmer Sharif Dargah. One of the most significant Muslim places of pilgrimage in the Indian subcontinent. The fervor of devotion of pilgrims, the scent of ittar and the soul-stirring renditions of Qawwalis create a powerful yet humble experience. The shrine is explored to devotees of all faiths and stands as an exquisite example of Indian culture.
A stunning specimen of the Indo-Islamic style of architecture, Adhai din ka Jhonpra, stands alongside the Dargah. It was built as a Sanskrit college, converted into a mosque in only two and a half days. Its stunning arch screen and elegantly sculpted pillars are marvels of architecture. Daular Bagh and Ana Sagar Lake were built in the 12th century. Emperor Shah Jahan’s stunning white marble pavilions in the adjacent Daulat Bagh, also Subhash Bagh, are especially beautiful after sundown.
Taragarh Fort sits atop a hill, offers commanding views of Ajmer City. The rich medieval history of the city and its continued status as an important center of Sufi influence are deeply tied to the day in Ajmer.
The tour goes to the surrounding town of Pushkar, which is just 14 kilometers drive and has an entirely different spiritual vibe. Pushkar is among the five most sacred places to visit for devout Hindus. The vibrant religious and cultural vibe of the town permeates the whole day:
Pushkar Lake is the religious heart of Pushkar. Pilgrims flock to the 53 bathing ghats that ring the lake, hoping that the water can wash away their sins and lead them to salvation.
Jagatpita Brahma Mandir, one of the temples that pays homage to Lord Brahma. The creator god of the Hindu trinity. The 14th-century temple is not to be missed, characterized by its signature red spire.
Optional: Savitri Temple is sitting atop a hill celebrating the first wife of Lord Brahma, Goddess Savitri. It requires a challenging climb but rewards visitors with a stunning view of Pushkar Lake and the desert around it, an ideal spot to view the sunset or sunrise.
Pushkar Bazaars are best to explore the lively, bustling bazaar streets, famous for their leatherware, embroidered textiles, silver jewellry and cultural spirit, especially during the iconic annual Pushkar Camel Fair.
The final morning of the tour is reserved for a leisurely breakfast. The 4 days package concludes with tourists having memories of the spiritual and cultural hub of Rajasthan, as they are driven from Pushkar or Ajmer, depending on your schedule, to the train station or airport for their onward destination.
