India’s two holiest spiritual destinations, Pushkar and Ajmer, sit in the middle of the wild Aravalli terrain. The Ajmer Pushkar Spiritual Retreat is a carefully designed day-trip for the modern-day soul-seeker who wishes to spend a day meditating deeply, being spiritually connected and relaxed, a world away from the hubbub of the city, like that of nearby Jaipur. It is a thoughtfully designed tour that harmonises body, mind, and spirit – it is not an impulsive sightseeing tour. It offers an unusual opportunity to experience two powerful, concurrent currents of Indian spirituality by blending the timeless Vedic customs of Pushkar.
The retreat lets you enjoy a mindful travel, where the journey is as important as the destination. It’s an opportunity to reconnect with your inner self and disconnect from the outside world. The day is planned out to experience devotional practices and holistic healing practices, allowing you to gradually immerse the mystical energies of these ancient villages.
Yoga & Meditation Session – With the spiritually charged atmosphere of Pushkar, the day begins with feeding the body and mind. A highly qualified professional will guide you through an equilibrium yoga and meditation session. This session happens in a serene and peaceful environment, like a special yoga shala, a beautiful garden or a quiet ghat overlooking the sacred Pushkar Lake. The ultimate focus is on led meditation to quiet the mind, gentle asanas and pranayama to calm the nervous system. Practising yoga at Pushkar amidst the gentle ring of temple bells is a profoundly relaxing experience.
Temple Visit – The core intention of the retreat is visiting both towns' sacred sites as pilgrims looking for understanding, not tourists.
Pushkar: Among the few Brahma temples in the world, the unique Brahma Temple, which you will witness later, is the one. After offering prayers, you will proceed to the sacred Pushkar Lake. The practice here includes a promenade down the 52 bathing ghats, and under the guidance of a local priest, you have the option of conducting a simple puja ceremony.
Ajmer: The tour takes one of the resplendent Dargahs of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, a sanctuary of peace and unshakeable love in Ajmer. Immersing oneself in the atmosphere of devotion is the job at hand. You get to witness a religion that goes beyond all religious and cultural boundaries while listening to the heart-stirring sounds of live qawwalis.
